More injury woe for Clarets

Burnley have been dealt yet another injury blow with the news that striker Jay Rodriguez will be out of action for three months with a fractured ankle.

Rodriguez was injured in last night's reserve-team match against Hull City when he landed awkwardly following an aerial challenge.

The 20-year-old underwent a scan on Thursday and manager Owen Coyle confirmed the damage.

"We are devastated for the lad and our primary concern is for him," Coyle said. "He's obviously an integral part our first-team squad and it's another blow to lose him for three months on the back of the other injuries we have had.

"However, I know Jay will get the best possible care under our team of physios and we look forward to him coming back as soon as possible to play a part in the remainder of our season.''
Rodriguez is the third Clarets player in a fortnight to be ruled out for three months, joining striking colleague Martin Paterson and midfielder Chris McCann on the injured list until Christmas, both with knee injuries.
